The Singapore Passion Run will be held on 8 July at East Coast Park.

This is a 10km run and the route is very flat; one that can allows you to break your personal best.

Saucony is one of the key sponsors for the run. The locals will know that among the various sports brand, Saucony is one that does not have a huge presence in terms of store fronts or retail stores. Those are dominated by the Nikes, Adidas and Mizuno (thanks to World Of Sports).

With this initiaitive, it could be a boost for Saucony in terms of exposure. There are die hards who share by Saucony. Myself, I straddle between Ascis and Mizuno.

With the Singapore Passion Run, there seems to be more run this year; an on-going reflection that the running scene is getting more attention. In part, probably a huge push by the government itself.

For those who are interested to take on the Singapore Marathon at the end of the year, the Singapore Passion Run will be a good start to gauge your performance and have you setting some training goals.

I did my first marathon last year starting my conditioning with the Mizuno Run. And manage to pull off my marathon just right under 6 hours.

I have been slacking off since. I think Singapore Passion Run is a timely reminder of the coming marathon in December.

Time to start hitting the roads and ramp up the mileage.
