Open Source Dealer Management System (DMS)

We issued a press release today, outlining that B.Synchronized, our dealer management system (DMS), will be open sourced.

A huge portion of the decision is tie back to what I want Neusteps to be ; helping companies be efficient.

We believe, with this approach, more car dealerships can benefit from lower cost implementation. And this is especially true in developing countries.

Proprietary Dealer Management System is well entrenched in developed countries. However, such systems are generally expensive, designed with clunky interface.

We hope that through the open source movement, car dealers will have a robust system that can help them run their business better.

And if you are a software developer, I invite you to join the project.

Over the next few weeks, we will be releasing the codes onto Sourceforge.

B.Synchronized also have a warehouse management module which we co-developed with SoftApp.

That too, will be release under open source (under a different project).

So, there it is. One single open source initiative, two open source projects.

I will update it here on this blog as we move along.
