1997 - The Microsoft Deal (for good times sake)

In 1997, Steve Jobs announced the partnership with Microsoft.

Among the collaboration is the use of Internet Explorer as the default browser on the Mac, Java VMs, Microsoft Office and also $150 million investment from Microsoft.

Looking back, what was important about the whole deal, really is how Steve Jobs kicked-start the ‘Think Different’ campaign.

Much of Apple’s success today is probably hinged on this keynote. The importance of Thinking Differently; including the notion that Microsoft has to loose in order for Apple to win.

In a global economy, and where innovation plays a key role, it is about creating a rising tide together. It is also about building GREAT products.

YouTube has a copy of the MacWorld keynote. View it and let it reminds you about the importance to Think Different; probably Apple’s best ads campaign ever.
