Running a business is tough.
And if you are the largest press company in Singapore, online or print, one would have expected a high level of editorial control.
Today, I came across a headline in AsiaOne.
It says, “Jet Li sued over movie about kung fu master”
But the summary brief shows :
“The husband of Faye Wong has reportedly said the singer will give birth to their baby in the privacy of their mansion in Beijing. -ST”

Clicking on the link will lead you to article about Faye Wong and not Jet Li.
I noticed the mistake in the morning and in the afternoon at 3:40pm, this little mistake is still not fixed.
While little harm is done in this case, I just wonders what system and processes is in placed behind the scenes…
In an increasingly connected environment, readers like me do not rely on one source for our news. Put it another way, I have not been a subscriber to Strait Times ( or any of its sister newspaper) for a long time. AsiaOne had its set back too… with its annoucement last year to switch to subscription based. I bet that move hurt their ads revenue.
The press, is lagging behind what consumers wanted. Can their problems be solved with the same kind of assumptions; the basis that created the problem in the first place.
