Selling Singapore

One of the things I find most facinating is how Malaysia and Singapore competes closely in many areas.

And this, includes tourism.

If there is anything that sticks, it will be Malaysia’s marketing campaign; “Malaysia, truly Asia”

Singapore uses the ‘Uniquely Singapore’ approach. Maybe, it’s because I lived and grew up in Singapore. Somehow, I don’t find the term ‘Uniquely Singapore’ sticks in my mind.

If there is one thing that Malaysia’s tourist promotion borad have done right, it will be the clever usage of ‘Truly Asia‘ to position Malaysia as a destination that represents Asia’s diversity.

Singapore is unique. But between unique and true, I go with the one ‘true thing’.
