2005 << Looking Back

The end of the year always seems to provide a good time (or chance) for us to reflect of what went by our lives for the year; the things that took place, goals that you have achieve, and stuffs that you have put off.

Katrina’s makes a devastating impact on New Orleans (and yet, it does not seem that long ago when the Tsunami destroyed the many homes of people in South Asia back in December 2004). Oil price sky rocketed. While many have claims how cartels are pushing the oil price up, the fact remains that PEAK OIL has started. Oil price will no longer come down in the long run. The supply will diminished as the years goes by. And for some of us, we may live to see the transition to new energy source.

On the local scene, NKF scandal has lead to much needed work on the governement front to start revamp in the way charities are audited and run. Much more important, in my opinion, is that people has learn to question more. The best way to contribute is your TIME. After all, you can decide how it can be utilised.

It wasn’t that long ago, Singapore was in a long gloomy recession. The mighty double digits economy growth, Internet boom… of yesteryears have make people complacent. The downturn was a wakeup call for many, including me.

This year, have been tough. A loan to a friend have turned into a bad debt. Business was slow as I experiemented with exhibitions. I have also been slacking on my excercises.

As I get myself re-organise, there is one thing I learnt.

Focus your day-week-month-year on OUTCOMES. Don’t plan your day by activities. Plan it by Outcomes!. With the outcome in mind, you would be much more focus, and will be able to achieve even more.
